The NAACP scored a major victory last week when the US House of Representatives voted to support the Senate-passed version of the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The Senate-passed version is much more expansive, comprehensive and inclusive than the version the version supported by the US House of Representatives last year. The bill now goes to the President for his signature, and President Obama has indicated that as a strong supporter of the legislation he will sign the bill into law.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to support this important legislation!
